Opening of the Five Hotel, Paris

Philippe Vaurs and Pascal Laffon opened the Five Hotel a few days ago, located in Rue Flatters in Paris’s 5th district. The hotel has 24 rooms that play the ‘designer card’ to the max, thanks to the assistance of Vincent Bastie, expert designer of numerous hotel refits, like the Murano and the Hotel du Petit Moulin, and interior decorator Marie-Paule Clout. Nine design concepts in all, each revolving around color and resulting in stunning contrasts. The prominent use of fiber optics adds a unique touch that is both playful and ‘high-fashion’. And, to cap it, the hotel takes its guests on an 'olfactory exploration'. From the word go, guests can choose among five 'signature fragrances' concocted by Dyptique: Delicious, Zest, Relaxing, Natural and Sensual. All you have to do is plug in the electric diffuser at your convenience. Price of rooms: from €150 for a standard room to €270 for a suite. www.thefivehotel-paris.com
