A wonderful experience

Guest from Chicago

The location was excellent but the service was outstanding. The desk staff was helpful beyond what I'd normally expect and I'm in the business.

A magical journey

Guest from Graz

his hotel is just ncredible. My fiance took me on a journey to Paris for valentine 's day.
It was magical, romantic ,amazing. It was the most beautiful night in my life. The location is great and the room is just spectacular, with all those lights it, was like we were in a different world, disconnected from reality.
I really advise couples and lovers to stay there, if you want to surprise your girflend there is no better place.

Wow, je t´aime, The Five

Guest from Chicago

Just returned from a stay in Paris, France. Stayed in the Five Hotel in the Latin Quarter. What should I say: the hotel has several advantages. First, the location in the Latin Quarter, close to a lot of restaurants and near a metro-station and only a short walk away from Jardin du Luxembourg or St. Germain-des-Pres. Second, perfect service and really nice people. Tanya and her team at the reception are perfect. If only every hotel had a team like The Five.......And third, the rooms: stylish and romantic at the same time. Free WLAN, which is very important for the business traveller. The last night we stayed in One by The Five, a luxury suite. Not only a luxury suite, but also a love suite: designed in a kind of modern baroque style, with two bathrooms, a budoir, a dancefloor (!), not to mention the up-to-date home entertainmet center, a little garden, and a bedroom that really makes you fly. That would be the perfect hideaway for honeymooners and lovers or the ideal ambience for a wedding proposal.
Leaving Paris is always sad, but leaving The Five in Paris is even more......

Amazing Weekend

Guest from Hertfordshire

Back in may, i decide to have a weekend away with my wonderful girlfriend to treat her, so i booked up online for a amazing looking hotel. Looking on the website The Five Hotel had stunning rooms.
When arriving at the hotel we was greeted by a lovely team of girls behind the desk. They were led by a girl called Tanya, who couldn't do enough for us. When telling her it was our first year anniversary, took it on herself to make sure we had an amazing one.
Opening the door of the room and walking in, we was greeted by a bucket of ice and a cold bottle of champagne. Which was lovely to drink after a early start to the day and traveling there.
The room was stunning, perfect to be honested, it was very romantic, with a really modern feel. I love anything modern and different to the norm. So for me i was over joyed.
The breakfast delievered to our room was very good, it was a typically a french breakfast and was very nice. We didn't eat in the hotel again tll the next days breakfast.
When leaving we was sad that the weekend was coming to an end but he team at the hotel made it one to remember.
Thank you Tanya and her team.

A truly Mowielicious experience!

Guest from London

My partner and I stayed at The Five Hotel earlier this year and it was just so chic - the amazing attention to detail more than made up for the small rooms and the staff were extremely helpful, all making for a truly unforgettable stay.

Enjoyable!

Guest from New York City

Stayed one week in a Standard Room on the 5th floor. Already armed with the knowledge that Paris rooms are small, was still taken aback at the small size of the room when I first opened the room door (was like 2 steps away from the bed!). Nevertheless, the room was clean, very modern touches and well kept.

Room Features

There were over 300 channels to watch on tv (channels coming from practically all over the world), free internet access and you can open the windows in your room (a good relief because the small room did get warm quickly, esp when u have the hair dryer going and realizing we weren't able to control the thermostat of the room after speaking to the receptionist - though, they did accommodate us by making the floor cooler for us).

Bathroom Features

A small bag of L'occitane amenities was provided by the hotel. Bathroom only had a shower. Also, the only space available to put your bathroom belongings on was a ledge that is above the toilet (good size I guess, that is, if u are bringing in like miniature-size things). Though have to say, the sink was a bit too small. Nicely shaped circular design, but always found myself splattering water on the wall/floor. Appreciate the design, but would've preferred if they sacrificed for practicality over design here (for example, could've made it into a square/rectangular shape for better use of space).

Hotel Food

We didn't do breakfast since other reviews here indicated how expensive it was. Though, one evening, we did order room service for dinner at about 9pm. Was pleasantly surprised by the good portion size and it was pretty good (think it was like 20 Euro for a plate).

Hotel Location

If you are looking for a hotel location where the streets are lively, this may not be the pick for you. The area is very quiet, not too touristy but easy to access as it's close to the Metro (about 5 mins walk to Les Gobelins station Line 7, or about 10 mins to RER B line, walking along Port Royal Blvd).
There is a pastry shop (called AOKI) at the end of the block (selling macaroons, chocolate pastries - very nice), few restaurants scattered about along Port Royal Blvd, and for those of you, a McD's towards the end of the blvd, if you walk towards the direction of Metro. Of course there is Rue Mouffetard about 5-7 mins walk away.

Hotel Staff

Staff was always very kind, friendly and accommodating. They always greet you with either "Bonjour" or "Bonsoir" as you enter/leave the building. They do make the effort to make sure you have a pleasant stay (as there was a mishap with a special request I had put through prior to my arrival which never happened. Though, they were very apologetic and they still came through with my request, at no charge).

Afterthoughts

Did enjoy the hotel. Would recommend it for those who would appreciate a more peaceful neighborhood (is safe, never felt unsafe, esp. walking back at night). Though, would recommend not to go for a Standard Room, do an upgrade (think it's only meant for one person, but we were two people, my mistake in booking!)
Though, for myself, next visit I would probably choose a different location. Since I experienced the peaceful way of life, gotta do the more lively, touristy spots since we missed out on that night-life feel.

Excellent choise!!

Guest from Greece

A great hotel. We loved the receptionist, Karine. She did her best to have the most amazing christmass holidays. The hotel location was good, the interiors were perfect, the exterior is soooo Paris!! The rooms have the most great bathrooms and the most amazing beds! We do not have words to describe how great time we had. A perfect A+ for the Five!!

Great stay

Guest from Wellington, Florida

Couple stayed in one of the standard rooms. We booked through their website and got an amazing rate of 110 Euros/night as a part of a three night minimum deal.
The rooms were modern, hip, and very well designed. Although they were on the small side, all liitle nooks were used smartly. Service was also great and we reccomend the breakfast in the hotel as a single espresso with a croissant can cost up to five euros on the street.
We can't wait to go back to The Five!

Friendly helpful staff

Guest from London

We chose this hotel because of the area and we weren't disappointed with either. It is well located with good transport links via the bus and metro into the centre of Paris. The area around the hotel is nice and easy with great little cafes and shops - there is a fantastic chocolate patisserie on the corner run by two Japanese girls that create works of art.
The staff in the hotel were very helpful 'googling' any requests for information that they didn't know. We were up graded on arrival and our room was perfect for a short stay with nice touches, such as mood lighting and essential oils burning in the rooms.
Would recommend the hotel to friends and family and would return there again for another short break to soak up Paris.

Atmosphere and service

Guest from San Jose, California

My husband and I took the Eurostar from London to Paris - definitely the most relaxing way to go. We had reserved a deluxe bedroom for two nights at The Five through Expedia, but were informed when we arrived that there had been a reservations confusion and we would have to change rooms each night.

From that point on, the service and experience was near perfect. The change in rooms gave us an idea of the range that The Five Hotel offered. The first room(303) we got was a standard - smaller than what we had reserved. The room was tiny but beautifully done, with a double bed and an en-suite shower (no tub). The only problem we had was the air conditioning system; the room was very stuffy and never cooled down.
The next day, to make up for the inconvenience and the smaller room, we were moved to the suite on the ground floor. For two people, the room was luxurious. Spacious bath, king bed, living room. The patio is very public, exposed to all the apartments above, but the hot tub is tastefully hidden behind a woven straw wall and some curtains.

The Five does not skimp on details. The sheets are high thread count, the carpet thick, the toiletry set is L'Occitane and included everything you could want. Their designers had fun with the lighting, and their care shows. Bathroom fixtures definitely emphasize form over function; the beautiful faucets are difficult to manage and the sinks could be awkward.
The hotel also provided complimentary breakfast for us in the basement, which was convenient. I would not pay for this breakfast, as the breakfast room is very cramped - guests and service is always squeezing by - and the food is only okay. Perhaps if taken in the room it would be better. Alternatively, walk up Mouffetard and sit at a cafe, watching the Parisian market life go by.

Service at the hotel is as perfect as any I've experienced. During out stay we saw three different women at the desk. The two with perfect English seemed confident and experienced. They were clear, articulate, and gave good advice on where to go and what to do. They also went out of the way to try to make up for the room confusion. A third, who worked late nights and early mornings, was friendly but not always helpful (she very much underestimated the journey time to Charles De Gaulle on the RER and gave unclear directions to a restaurant); perhaps these service issues were due to the language barrier.
We had dinner at Chez Marty's five minutes walk down Port Royal one night. They seemed to specialize in seafood, and the food was delicious, if a little pricy. A shared appetizer, and one drink and entree per person came to 82 Euro. A second night we went to Restaurant Languedoc just around the corner from the hotel, also on Port Royal. It seemed a neighborhood restaurant, with simple French food, perfectly executed at a bargain menu price of 40 Euro for two, including appetizers, entree, and dessert.

Overall, we had a beautiful stay at The Five. Even with the room mix-up, I would give this hotel full marks both their friendly and professional service and their tasteful and luxurious rooms.
